1/12/2011 - What has happened to Beeraholix ?
In early 2009 I (Doc) started Beeraholix to fill a gaping hole in the craft beer landscape in Australia. There was no consolidated place for consumers of craft beer to get information about Australian craft breweries, brewers, venues and seasonal beer release information.
The site I built was based on the premise that there was a core cult following of craftbeer and if those people had a place where they could submit information, it could be validated by like minded enthusiasts and then announced widely via social media mechanisms.
Whilst Beeraholix never realised its full potential it did set the scene for future endeavours by others based on a similar premise. To this point Beeraholix has been superseded by sites with more resources and considerably more enthusiasm. To this end, I’m closing the Beeraholix news site.
I will however still maintain the Australian and New Zealand beer twitter lists, for those that wish to be able to quickly find/follow/listen to beer tweeps. I find these lists very useful to quickly follow whats happening in the local beer scene. The Facebook page will also remain and I will continue to use it to help spread the good word about craftbeer by re-sharing beer related Facebook news.
Follow the links below for my randomly ordered and unsolicited* recommendations for those wanting to be ‘in the know’ of the Australian craft beer scene.
Beers,
Doc
